Sixth Form (IBDP)

Key Stage 5: Sixth Form

International Baccalaureate - Year 12 and 13

Widely regarded as the most ambitious school leaving qualification and recognised by leading universities around the world, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) has been offered at St George's since 1996.

The IB Diploma combines rigorous academic standards with intellectual breadth to develop young people who are literate, numerate, aware of their world socially and scientifically and able to communicate their experiences in at least two languages.

Additional components in research, critical thought and community service complete the education of very well-rounded individuals equipped for life in the 21st century.

St George's pupils achieve IB results well above the world average, but we offer much more than an excellent education. Pupils are expected to immerse themselves fully into the life of the school and that of the local community.

They participate in a plethora of co-curricular activities, occupy positions of responsibility through the Student Council, Mentoring Programmes and as House Captains.

Throughout the school year, we welcome visits to the school from representatives of world-leading universities. With the guidance of our Director of University Guidance and Careers, pupils are equipped with the support that they need in order to apply to the universities or colleges of their choice, and so enter the next phase of their academic careers with the strongest possible foundation.

The following IB Diploma subjects are offered at St George's. All courses are available at both Higher level (HL) and Standard level (SL) unless indicated.
