Music
St George's takes pride in offering pupils of all ages an array of music programmes and the opportunity to get involved in music ensembles in and around Rome. For example:
Instrumental lessons
St George’s offers private instrumental and singing lessons with highly qualified and experienced musicians.
Orchestra and Choir
There is a thriving Choir and Junior Orchestra at both Junior Schools in the City Centre and at La Storta.
Instrumental Ensembles
A wide variety is on offer in both campuses such as Rock Percussion and Elastic Band. Each ensemble is set up to facilitate instrumental music performance in a wide variety of musical styles.
Strings Programme
The Strings Programme was started to give pupils in Years 1 to 3 the opportunity to try out the violin and often acts as a springboard into private instrumental lessons, which allows them to take part in the various musical ensembles. The Strings Programme has been very successful over the years as many pupils usually go on to take private lessons after taking part in the programme.
Annual Event: The St George’s British International School Spring Concert
Every year in March, our pupils from the Junior schools' and Senior school come together to perform at the Parco della Musica Auditorium in Rome. The evening promises an exploration of a vast range of contemporary and classical music, Orchestras, Choirs, Jazz ensembles, duets and instrumental ensembles: there is a little bit of everything.
