Excursions and Residential Trips
St George's Junior Schools have similar programmes of trips and off-campus visits, throughout the year. Being based in rome, this unrivalled asset - our city - is the prime focus for many of the trips. St George’s pupils are lucky to explore the wonders of this magnificent historical city.
Residential trips start in Year 3 with three days spent at a biological farm in Umbria. Year 4 have recently stayed at Arteaparte, a nature focused arts and music centre near Todi, or have honed their skills in olive picking in Umbria.
Years 5 and 6 venture further afield. In recent years Year 5 have been to Venice and Year 6 to London. These trips offer opportunities for children at the two Junior School sites to come together and to develop friendships that continue into the Senior School.
Day trips are varied and usually relate to topic work. Recent trips have included visits all over Rome, including:
- Botanical Gardens
- Bioparco Zoo
- Aircraft Museum at Vigna di Valle (Bracciano)
- Ostia Antica
- La Caldara (Manziana)
- Farms in the surrounding countryside
- Gallery of Modern Art and Maxxi Museum.
