Year 9 Pupil Scoops Top Art Prize in Vivi Veio Art Competition

Congratulations to Kate, 9M, who has won first prize in the highly competitive Vivi Veio Art Competition for 2023.

Mr Morgan’s Key Stage 3 ‘A-Team' Art and Design creativity and extension sessions are a development of the Junk Kouture project. They enable keen pupils to prepare work for local, national and international competitions.

The group recently entered six pieces for the middle school category of the Vivi Veio Art prize. This was open to all of Rome's Italian and International schools. The competition theme was ‘Flying’. Kate created an elaborate tetramorph 'angel' ceramic sculpture. Her prize was presented at a ceremony on Saturday by the ex Generale of Italy's 'Frecce Tricolore' aerobatic display team. She has been awarded a flight in a two seater aircraft, hopefully including a chance to take the controls herself!
