St George’s Mathematicians Take First and Second Place At Regional Competition

Well done to the St George’s participants of the AIBWSI ((Association of IB World Schools In Italy) Senior Maths Team Competition who competed at the International School of Florence recently. With a total of 18 teams from nine schools participating (each school entering two teams) the St George’s Maths teams finished in first and second place - a brilliant achievement.

First Place:

Zhewen, Tai, Flora and Kevin.

Second Place:

Adrian, Bo, Elisa and Agostino.

Dr John Knight, Principal said:

They were outstanding in coming ahead of all competition and alongside those who came in second - the other team from St George’s. Achieving First and Second place in the Senior Maths competition is even more impressive than just achieving first place on its own and shows the depth of talented Mathematicians in the school.
