St George’s Launches Third Annual COBIS Programme For Middle Leaders

St George's welcomed the new cohort of participants for the COBIS Programme for Middle Leaders to Rome last week.

Facilitated by Mr Matthew Woodhead, Head of City Centre Junior School, and Mrs Frances Vulpiani, Assistant Headteacher & Head of Sixth Form, the participants undertook three days of training, exploring key themes around school leadership, how to be an effective leader, how to build effective teams and how to lead impactful change.

St George’s participants were joined by colleagues from The English College in Prague (Czechia), The International School of Lyon (France) and Oporto British School (Portugal). Participants now embark on their Leadership Challenge Action Research Projects before reuniting in May for the next stages of the course.

Mrs Vulpiani: "It is such a pleasure to work with middle leaders and watch them grow and develop during the course. There was a climate of trust and openness which meant that participants were motivated to share and reflect on their leadership experiences and think about how they can close a gap and make positive change in their school communities."
