St George’s British International School in Rome is delighted to announce an exceptional set of International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma results for 2025, once again placing the school among the top-performing IB schools in Europe.
All students entered for the IB Diploma Programme not only achieved the full Diploma, but also earned the High School Diploma, accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) — a dual qualification that reflects St George’s unique academic offering. The cohort’s average IB score of 36 points was more than five points above the 2025 global average, underscoring both the rigour of the programme and the exceptional commitment of this year group.

Nearly 90% of students exceeded the global average, with multiple candidates achieving over 40 points, and two outstanding students attaining a near-perfect score of 44 points.
Reflecting on the achievements of the Class of 2025, Vice-Principal and Head of Senior School Mary-Clare Startin commented:
“This is a truly special year group — academically ambitious, but also humble and full of heart. Alongside their remarkable IB results, many of our students also completed the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, balancing rigorous study with leadership, service and adventure. What makes them stand out is not just what they achieved in the classroom, but who they were throughout school life: passionate contributors to drama, music, and sport, and role models to younger students. From lead roles in productions, to performances in concerts, to one student who proudly represented her country in competitive sailing — they truly embraced every opportunity. These results speak volumes about their mutually supportive, committed and positive approach.”
St George’s offers both the IB Diploma Programme and A-Levels, providing bespoke pathways tailored to individual strengths. Students benefit from a world-class education grounded in the British tradition, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and a highly experienced, international teaching staff. This year’s IB results continue a pattern of academic excellence and global university destinations, reaffirming St George’s as one of the leading international schools in Europe.
