St George’s British International School is proud to celebrate another outstanding set of International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma results, with the Class of 2026 achieving exceptional outcomes and continuing the school’s tradition of academic excellence.
Students who completed the full IB Diploma Programme also proudly earned the High School Diploma, accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). This distinctive dual qualification reflects the breadth of a St George’s education, preparing students for leading universities and opportunities across the world.
With the 2026 global average standing at 30.8 points, an outstanding 81% of St George’s students surpassed the worldwide benchmark. This year’s achievements are truly inspiring, with 31% of students scoring 38 points or above and 9% reaching an impressive 42 points or more.
At the highest level of achievement, one extraordinary student earned the maximum possible score of 45 points, while another secured an exceptional 44 points - accomplishments celebrated internationally as representing the pinnacle of IB academic success.
Beyond the numbers, these results reflect the character of a year group who embraced the full St George’s experience: balancing academic ambition with leadership, creativity, service and commitment to the wider school community.
Reflecting on the achievements of the Class of 2026, Vice-Principal and Head of Senior School Mary-Clare Startin commented:
“We are extremely proud of the results of the Class of 2026, who have maintained the excellent standards achieved in recent years. We are equally proud of all they have contributed to the school beyond the classroom in their time with us. They have embraced everything that a St George’s education has to offer: participating in activities such as Duke of Edinburgh and MUN and enriching our community through performing in stunning theatre productions and concerts through the years, as well as participating in sport at an elite level. Their legacy is not only the impressive results they have achieved but the fantastic example they have set for our younger students and the positive way they have shaped the culture of the school through their leadership. They are a wonderful group of young people who I am confident will go on to make a real impact in their chosen fields”.
