Sixth Form Lecture Series: Living a Life of Risk

The Sixth Form Lecture Series continues on Wednesday 12 December 2018 with Living a Life of Risk by
St George’s Alumnus Mr Martin Picard, CEO of Vreasy Corporation.

A veteran technical software innovator, ex-developer, product manager and CEO, Mr Picard has been responsible for, or directly involved in, a number of the building blocks of today's global distributed computing infrastructure. He has founded and built companies from scratch, expanded existing marketing organisations and carried out successful exit strategies. He has also sometimes chosen to keep things small and profit from the sale of embryonic technology.

Mr Picard is an idea person with background in software development, product management and marketing. He actively advises and sits on the board of a number of start-ups. He is an occasional angel investor with a small existing portfolio. He is always happy to mentor young CEOs and entrepreneurs. Mr Picard is also a lover of adventure. Whether it is sailing alone across the oceans, flying a small seaplane across the Atlantic and to a few hundred miles short of the North Pole, or as a serial entrepreneur, his philosophy is that risk carries great reward and one should always choose the option that puts you most to the test. He currently heads up Vreasy Corporation, a growing force in the tourism and travel market.
