The 2021-22 school year is underway and we are delighted to welcome back all returning pupils. We also extend a very warm welcome to our new families, whom we welcomed to the school campus for our traditional New Pupils’ Morning on the day prior to the start of term.
In the Principal’s welcome address to Senior School pupils during the first assembly of the new school year, he asked pupils to model three things in all of their interactions in school this year:
1. We are so fortunate at the school to have some many different nationalities represented - 90 at the current count. This is a really fantastic opportunity for all our pupils to embrace internationalism, to find out more about cultures different from their own and get used to working together across cultural boundaries.
2. Our school prides itself on its focus on inclusivity and on making sure that everyone is welcome regardless of their background or inherent academic ability. It is vital that all members of our community recognise the part they play in welcoming others and being respectful of differences.
3. The success that the school and our pupils achieve is down to a relentless focus on excellence in all that we do. It is important that all members of our community strive, at all times, to be the very best they can be - whether this is in their studies, their co-curricular interests and passions or in their commitment to the school or their house.
Keeping everyone safe, approaching normality
As we continue to navigate the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, some of the previous restrictions from the past academic year remain in place, including mask wearing indoors, social distancing within classrooms, and one-way systems within the school corridors.
We wish all pupils a very successful year ahead.
