Delegates Participate In FLOMUN

A total of 29 delegates from Year 9 and Year 10 were accompanied by Ms Wilford, Ms Jones and Ms Albanese to the International School of Florence for the two-day FloMUN Conference. Schools from all over Italy participated to join the debates and discussions as well as networking in the beautiful setting of Florence and the Tuscan countryside. Sessions focused on topics including climate insecurity, humanitarian aid to Haiti, the Korean Peninsula, Mali, Armenia-Azerbaijan and Rwanda-Democratic Republic of Congo.

Kim Campbell, former Prime Minister of Canada, gave an inspiring speech to open the conference. Two St George's pupils, Theo and Francesco, did a great job chairing their committees. Honourable Mentions were awarded to Tai, Sanghamitra, Lorenzo, Zhewen and Mathias. Best Delegate Awards went to Anna and Harry. Congratulations to all participants, and thanks to the St George's MUN Club Committee senior members Gianluigi, Andreas and Gabriel for all their help and advice in getting everyone prepared beforehand.
