IB Theatre Pupils Attend TaPS In London

Last week St George's IB Theatre pupils had the opportunity to travel to London and join eight other international schools from around the world as part of the International Schools Theatre Association Theatre Arts Programme Symposium (ISTA TaPS). For three days, pupils were involved in workshops that aim to push them in their creative skills, and focus their thinking on IB course assessments. Their workshops ran from 8.45am to 4.00pm, and were taught by theatre professionals in their fields.

ISTA is the governing body for the IB Theatre programme, so many of the organisers are, themselves, IB examiners. The trip also included outings to see Dear Evan Hansen at the Noel Coward Theatre, and Much Ado About Nothing at The Globe. Most importantly, pupils came away saying that they had experienced a new perspective on theatre making, and gained a keen understanding about how the skills they exercised directly apply to their assessment tasks. St George's look forward to making TAPS a tradition for IB Theatre pupils for years to come.
