Record-Breaking IB Results for Class of 2021

The Class of 2021 continue to perform significantly above the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) global average.

We congratulate the graduating class of 2021 on their outstanding IB Diploma results.  Collectively they have set a new record average score for a St George’s graduating cohort, with their combined average score of 37.2 points the highest since the inception of the IB programme at St George’s in 1996.

The class saw a 100% pass rate from 71 Diploma Programme entrants. Incredibly, four pupils scored a maximum of 45 points, placing them in the top performing 0.45% of IB candidates across the world.

With success across the board, 49% of candidates achieved a score of 38 points or more, and 39% of pupils achieved an average of 40 points or more. The pupils' performance continues to surpass global benchmarks, with the 2021 St George’s pass rate of 100% set against the global pass rate of 89%.

These outstanding achievements will allow our graduating students to progress to some of the best universities globally including the University of Cambridge, University College London, Trinity College Dublin, the University of Toronto, Leiden University and many more. Congratulations, Year 13, on meeting and exceeding your individual goals!

Mr Paul Ryan, Head of Senior School said: “We are delighted for the graduating class of 2021. These incredible achievements must be set in the context of the significant disruption to their IB programme during the past two years. The pupils have demonstrated huge reserves of determination and resilience: we are extremely proud of each and every one of them. I am sure they will join me in thanking the teachers and staff who have supported them through this period and for the invaluable support from their parents and families. Today is once more a wonderful testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of the entire St George’s community.”

Among our most notable performers were Matilde Fulfaro, Francesco Muci, Bianca Pozzi and Sara Ziadat who recorded a maximum score of 45 points, and Rebecca Leone, Valeria Li, Elio Pascarelli and Leonardo Valente who achieved 44 points.
