Academic Excellence at St George’s

St George’s is proud to celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of its students, with recent accolades highlighting the school’s continued success in global education.

The school received two major recognitions that underscore the exceptional standards set by its students and staff: 2024’s impressive IB average of 36 points places St George’s in the IB ranking tables as one of the top 100 schools worldwide - matching the SPEARS Index ranking. It also recognises St George’s amongst the top 15 institutions in Europe, mirroring the school’s ranking in the Carfax List.

In addition, St George’s was presented with outstanding news regarding its GCSE results for the Year 11 class of 2024. Its students achieved some of the best GCSE results in Europe. Among the subjects where St George’s achieved best results in Italy were Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, History, English Literature, Spanish and French. On top of these impressive results, the school also collected three “Best in Europe” awards for English, Geography and German.

Top Not-for-Profit British School in Europe
The recognition of St George’s in these independent rankings makes us the only Not-for-Profit, British School (BSO) in Europe to be included in all three lists so we end 2024 in the very strongest position as a British School in Europe.
