Sustainability
At St George’s British International School, we believe that sustainability is not just a responsibility but an essential part of shaping a better future for our students and our planet. Guided by our core values of internationalism, inclusivity, and excellence, we are committed to embedding sustainable practices across all aspects of school life, both in and beyond the classroom.
From the way we educate and inspire our students to the way we develop and manage our campus, sustainability is at the heart of our decision-making. Our curriculum fosters environmental awareness, global citizenship, and responsible leadership, empowering students to think critically about the world’s challenges and to take meaningful action.
As we continue to grow and develop our campus, we are investing in sustainable solutions that reduce our environmental impact while enhancing the learning experience. Our development plans prioritise energy efficiency, green spaces, and eco-friendly infrastructure, ensuring that our school remains a model of responsible stewardship for future generations.
Sustainability is a journey, and we are committed to continuous improvement. Through collaboration with our students, staff, parents, and wider community, we strive to create a more sustainable school that reflects our values and prepares our students to be thoughtful, engaged global citizens.
At the beginning of 2024, St George's began working with Green School Italy, an organisation that links more than 600 schools in Italy and is accredited by UNESCO's Green Education Partnership, to ensure that sustainability becomes a core part of our community.
