St George's proud to announce that our MUN delegates performed extremely well in New York!

In early March 2018, six delegates from St. Georges attended the first session of the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) held at the United Nations Headquarters and the New York Hilton Midtown.
Currently in its 44th year, the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) Conference has established itself as the premier conference on the high school Model UN circuit. The largest high school conference in the world, NHSMUN 2018's two sessions host 5000 participants from more than 75 countries and 250 schools.
The location in New York City, surrounded by offices of Permanent Missions to the United Nations as well as the United Nations Headquarters itself, provided the perfect backdrop for a robust international affairs experience and a broadening of global issues awareness.
We are very proud to announce that our delegates performed extremely well. Prior to arriving at the conference, they all received email congratulations for the quality of their preparation and the high standard of their position papers.
While at the conference, Sofia Carollo and Luca Torregiani were selected by their Chairs to give a presentation during the Closing Ceremony of the work they had accomplished in their SPECPOL Committee of 170 delegates.
Finally, as a school, we were thrilled to receive an Award of Merit, from the Secretary General in recognition of the positive contribution made by all our delegates in their respective committees.
From 125 participating schools, and 2,500 delegates, 9 schools were selected for awards and so we feel very proud of this achievement at our very first attendance at this prestigious conference.
Well done to delegates: Sofia Carollo, Guia Cordero Di Montezemolo, Luca Torregiani, Gioia Chen, Priscilla Perfetti and Olivia Whimpenny.
