Science Teaching Staff

David Clapp - Head of Science (Sabbatical)

Mr Clapp brings over twenty years of teaching experience to his role as Head of our dynamic Science Department, where his speciality is Physics. He joined in September 2010, having previously taught in both Hungary and England. Mr Clapp will be on Sabbatical during 2017-2018.


Anna Lucia Di Renzo - Head of Science

Before moving to Rome, Ms Di Renzo worked in Ireland, and has over 25 years' experience of teaching a variety of subjects including Science, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, EAL, and extracurricular sport. She will be covering for Mr Clapp as Head of Science for the academic year 2017.


John Talbot - Head of Biology & Assistant Head

Now in his 8th year, Mr Talbot is an Assistant Head with a pastoral lead. He is also a teacher of Science, specialising in Biology. In addition, he is the teacher in charge of the schools main charity ZOA which raises funds the Zambian Orphans Appeal.


Jennifer Horay - Head of Chemistry

Ms Horay has over 12 years of Science teaching experience and is a Chemistry teacher at St George's.


Amber Haq

Ms Haq is an experienced Chemistry teacher and is also Assistant Head of Sixth Form.  She is now in her sixth year at St George's and in addition to teaching, is a Model United Nations Director.


Gary Burton-Wilcock

Mr Burton-Wilcock joined the Science department in 2013 to teach Physics.  Mr Burton-Wilcock taught Physics and Science for seven years before moving to industry, with various roles in mechatronic systems design.  Outside of work he enjoys playing drums, hiking and hill walking.


Sarah Mollen (Sabbatical)

As well as her role as Assistant Head of the Senior School, Ms Mollen is a Teacher of Biology. She joined St George's in 2004 and has been teaching for over ten years. Ms Mollen will be on Sabbatical during 2017-2018.


Maria Vranaki

Ms Vranaki joined us in 2013 to teach Chemistry.


Tina Iwerebor

Ms Iwerebor is a Science/Biology teacher with more than 10 years' teaching experience.


Lorraine Logue

Ms Logue has has over ten years teaching experience and has taught in the UK and Abu Dhabi.  She has worked as Head of Biology and Assistant Head of Sixth Form at her previous school. From 2017, Ms Logue will be teaching Biology at St George’s.


Seth Ford

Mr Ford joins St George’s as a Physics teacher from 2017. He has taught Physics for two years previously in the UK, and before that was an engineer and a outdoor instructor. 


Timothy Goddard

Mr Goddard studied Mathematics at Durham University where he then continued to complete his PhD in Theoretical Physics whilst also teaching Mahematics and Physics. Mr Goddard has previous experience teaching in Italy as he has taught at Liceo Scientifico and another British International school.
