The Academy is run by Mr Dek Smith, a highly qualified and experienced FIFA coach, and is open to pupils from Years 3 - 9.

St George's Football Academy has run 8 tournaments this year, providing an opportunity for all ages and genders to play football for their school, plus the All Girl Soccer Festival which will now be a regular event every March. With over 300 games taking place over the school year, SGFA thanks all the efforts made by the St George's maintenance staff, security and catering. We have welcomed teams from Florence, Milan, Turin and Napoli, plus attracted two teams from Dubai to take part in our Senior Cup. We have successfully qualified over 40 coaches who have taken the SGFA coaching course. These courses are free and open to anyone wishing to further their coaching education. St George's Football Academy continues to grow due to the 100% support the academy receives from the head of PE, Paul Lambsdale and St George's Principal Martyn Hales, and the heads of the junior schools; Chris Williams and Michael Barber, plus St George's very dedicated coaching staff: Naomi Woods, Steve Waddington, Gary Phillips, Robert McGregor and Selina Stark.
Once you have become a member of SGFA you will be assigned to a session based on your age and level of play.
SGFA is active on Saturday morning unless St George's Football Tournaments are taking place, when SGFA will run the next day (Sunday).
If you would like to learn more regarding any SGFA tournaments, membership; or coaching courses, please contact academy director Dek Smith.

St. George's is an academic school. The quality of our academic lessons is paramount. Our GCSE and IB results are very strong and most pupils go off to their first choice university.
However, we offer a lot more than that. We offer many activities, from Archaeology to Volleyball, from Chess to Dance and from Oxbridge preparation to a host of musical activities.
