All pupils except those taking public exams go on May Week. Each year group are offered at least two choices; one home and one away. Unsurprisingly, the large majority choose the away trip! Here are the away trips for May 2008.

the children will stay in a hotel. They will learn about heraldry and
medieval warfare. They will make shields and seals, learn medieval flag

island in Lago di Trasimeno for a treasure hunt and the chance to take
part in a jousting tournament and a medieval banquet. Students will
visit the beautiful and historic town of Assisi. Five days, four nights.
Year 8: Sardinia Sailing and Ecology
The
week will be spent learning to sail in the beautiful setting of the
Maddelena Archipelago in Sardinia. Students will develop team skills
on land and sea. There will be theory and practical lessons daily and
3-4 students per boat with a qualified sailing instructor. We have been
working with this sailing school for over ten years and our students
have always found this to be a valuable and memorable experience. Departure
is Sunday evening and the return is the following Sunday morning.

Year 11: Doing their GCSE Exams
Year 13: Upper Sixth: Doing the IB Exams
May Week exemplifies St. George's ethos; it is not just about academic success, it is about building the character of the young people so that they are equipped to meet the challanges of the outside world, starting when they leave school and go to University.
