IB Art Exhibition 2007 photo album
Art is very important at St. George's. It is one of our flagship departments. Housed on the entire top floor and air conditioned. The Art department has a permanent gallery, computer room and large studios. The department is led by the charismatic Mr Morgan, who is himself a practicing artist and also a Visual Arts examiner for the IB Organisation.
IB students are allocated their own studio spaces
and
all pupils use media ranging from batik and ceramics to digital video
and oil paint. At least three extracurricular Art clubs are run each
week as well as regular life drawing classes, summer Art workshops and
Trips (for example, to Venice in Feb 2007). The student pictured here
is painting a retired teacher. On the strength of his portfolio alone
he was accepted to a place at Chelsea Art College.
Don't forget our excellent Design Technology
Department led by the brilliant Ms Wrycroft. Cutting edge computer-aided
design is matched by hand crafted creations
