Junior School Activities

St.George's Junior Schools have similar programmes of trips, both day and residential, activities and concerts throughout the year. Clearly we are lucky to have Rome on our doorstep and this unrivalled asset is the focus for many of our trips.

Residential Trips

These start in Year 3 with three days spent at a biological farm in Umbria. Year 4 have recently stayed at Arteaparte, a nature focused arts and music centre near Todi, or gone olive picking in Umbria. Years 5 and 6 venture further afield. In recent years Year 5 have been to Venice and Year 6 to London.

These trips offer opportunities for the two schools to come together and to develop friendships that continue into the Senior School.

Day Trips

These are varied and usually relate to topic work.  Recent trips have included visits to:

  • The Botanical Gardens
  • The Bioparco Zoo
  • Aircraft Museum at Vigna di Valle (Bracciano)
  • The Colosseum
  • The Toy Museum at Zagarolo
  • Cinecittà Studios
  • Ostia Antica
  • La Caldara at Manziana
  • Educational farms in the surrounding countryside
  • The Gallery of Modern Art and Maxxi

Extra-Curricular Clubs

St George's La Storta provides a rich variety of both lunch-time and after-school clubs, with new clubs being offered each term. Clubs include, for example: Gardening, Percussion, Cooking, Ballet, Chess, Storytelling, Guitar.

There are always a good number of sporting clubs included, such as Football, Girls Football, Hockey, Athletics and Cross Country running.  Children are encouraged to try what interests them, without obligation.
