2012 Bracciano Jazz

A beautiful, sunny, autumn day in Bracciano’s Piazza Mazzini, under the shadow of the Castello Odescaldi, was the stunning setting for the Jazz Band’s first outing.
Heading the line-up on alto and tenor saxophones was Jacopo Cerasoni, who took impressive solos throughout the gig, notably in Miles Davis’ All Blues. He was well supported by Toby Rogers, also on alto sax, who showed considerable promise for the future.
The leads were excellently supported by the rhythm section consisting of Mr Smith on keys, Nadav Cats on bass, Max Bonar-Law on guitar and Jamie Truglia-Nutty on drums. All of these band members also took excellent solos throughout the gig in pieces such as the jazz classics Blue Bossa and Autumn Leaves.
Joana Fehr sang two wonderful Gershwin tunes, Summertime and I Got Rhythm and also compered the gig.
The audience, which comprised supportive parents and teachers, as well as members of the public, was very enthusiastic and refused to let the band finish when they reached the end of their set.
The gig finished with the theme from Sesame Street which left everyone smiling. Thanks to our host Paolo and to Mr Smith for organising the event.
