How to Apply

We accept applications throughout the year, but please remember that it is important to apply early to increase your chances of a place.

Entry to St George’s is based on:

  • Cognitive assessment for senior school pupils only
  • Last school reports. Please bring the reports with you to interview
  • A meeting with the Principal or Heads of either the Senior or Junior School, whenever possible

In the case of those who live abroad it is not always feasible to have an interview with the Principal or Heads of either the Senior or Junior School, therefore the assessments and reports become extremely important. The assessment can be taken at the child's present school if they are willing to invigilate on our behalf. The assessment takes approximately 1h45 to complete in full.

Please note that taking the assessment does not mean that children are automatically enrolled at St George’s; if they pass their assessment, they are placed on waiting lists. The Principal offers places in year groups as and when these become available, and, when year groups are full, offers are not made until March/April after re-registration has been carried out for current students and we know who is leaving.

In the entry policy document on the right hand side of the page, you will find the Age Groups with their corresponding Year Groups. Please note that it is not the policy of the school to allow children to enter a year group above their age.
