All St George’s buildings checked and safe after recent earthquakes

Following the significant earthquake on Sunday, 30th October 2016, hitting the medieval town of Norcia, the school buildings in La Storta and Nomentana were inspected for any signs of damage.

Initially a visual inspection was made on the Sunday, which was followed up during the half term break with an inspection by Ing. Michele Tataseo, an experienced structural engineer.

Reports for both buildings at the two sites were positive with no damage reported, and it was noted that the buildings ‘reacted’ correctly in absorbing the shock waves that reached Rome, which many of us will have experienced.
