Extra-Curricular Activities

Lunch times and after school are packed with voluntary activities for all year groups.

There is an entire timetable dedicated to Sport, ranging from Breakfast Fit Club to Cricket, from Girls' Rugby to Table Tennis.  In addition, there are many other thriving extra-curricular clubs and activities on offer, such as Drama Club, Art Club, Photography Club, Irish Dancing, Debating Society, Model United Nations, Madrigal Choir, Barber Shop Choir, Dance and many more.

Throughout the Key Stages pupils join the Environmental Club, raising awareness on environmental issues during school assemblies and implementing strategies to reduce our carbon footprint, by planting trees, composting and recycling school's garbage, for example.

A late bus service is provided to facilitate pupils taking part in the after-school clubs.

As well as all of this daily activity, there are numerous day or field trips organised by teaching staff, plus many longer residential trips, most of these falling within May Week.

Pupils are often involved in charity events and fund raising, with most funds raised going towards ZOA, but also to other charities of choice, such as Soccorso Clown, an Italian charity which brings cheer to children in hospital.

We also have our own St George's Football Academy, now run on Saturdays by Elliot Manson.

Finally, since last year, St George's offers students in Year 10 and 12 the chance to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh International Award scheme, co-ordinated by Mr Smith.
